My week at Fall Creek Falls with PLMI was unforgettable.  The park has
the most breathtaking view of the sun rising on the lake.  Every morning I
would open the curtains just to soak up the view.  The people that I met
there were warm and friendly.  I want to thank those for making me feel
comfortable and encouraging me to be part of the team.  I will be totally
honest, the first couple of days I was very nervous, but once I relaxed I
enjoyed myself.
Heather opened my eyes to so much.  I hope I don't forget any of the
important information she told us.  I hope now that I'm back at the library
I can strengthen my skills and make the right decisions when it counts the
most.
I look forward to seeing everyone soon, take care.

Day 4 ( teaching topics )

I recognized that teaching is better accomplished when you strive to create a vision,
and share that with your team.  Our team today came together and demonstrated
traits of good team-work.  Everyone appreciated the efforts and success that we
had.

Motivation and recognizing your team-mates value, and praising them ensures
total satisfaction.  Combining different skills and sharing the responsibility is an
important factor of success.  Everyone enjoyed working together and did a
awesome job.

Day 3

It was a real pleasure listening to Dr. Cathy Self, it surprised me how much her voice
calmed and comforted me.  I didn't realize how tensed I was.  She has a special
talent and I hope she continues to use it.

What touched me the most was remembering how the little boy was so happy with
the book that I found him.  And the little old woman thanking me for taking so much
time helping her.  Sometimes it's the little things that you do for someone else, even
though it is my job.  Dr. Self helped me remember some wonderful moments that
sometimes we take for granted.

I was inspired to look ahead towards the future.  To stop complaining about the
little things, especially the things I can not change.  Just accept what comes and
face it and deal with it.  I feel fortunate to have met all of the wonderful people
who has enter my life through the library.  I hope that I have made a difference
to someone.

interview with Melissa

Coming to Fall Creek Falls this week has been memorable.  It has been a real pleasure to meet Melissa Montgomery.  We have been to in-services together but never really sit down and spent some time getting to know each other.
She has a great personality, warm, and friendly.  Always has a nice smile to offer everyone.  I am so amazed that we have similar traits and values.  You will never see Melissa or myself bungee jumping
because we both are afraid of heights.
We both love going outdoors and walking, and Fall Creek Falls is a great place for that.  Not many
people know that Melissa loves to fish.  If she had brought her fishing rod, you might have seen her
down by the lake fishing instead of coming to class.
If Melissa decided not to work anymore, you would find her volunteering at the local school.  She loves helping and encouraging children.  Recognizing the needs of children and willing to give her
time to them shows her true sense of commitment for others.
We are both very emotional connected with our families.  Family seems to be our foundation for the things we do everyday.  This has been an adventure that I will always remember fondly.  I hope that
the friendship between Melissa and myself will last a lifetime.

I am

I am a person who focuses on being reliable, honest, and helpful to everyone to the best of my ability.
I like to do everything to make my companions happy.

I would like to improve on my public speaking, and being well-groomed that reflects well for my appearance at the library.  The only change I would make at the library is to remove some posters
and pictures, and place signs for easier identification of areas in the library.

today's post

Today was very interesting, I was very nervous about being here, but I have enjoyed myself.
Hearing Don speak about the importance of library history was very enlighting..  I have learned that the day to day history of the
library is important to always remember. When Ms Sloan spoke about the bookmobile history ,  I can't help but think of my library, because we started out with the bookmobile also, it has a special place in my heart. This trip is a major step for me, I have never drove
beyond Knoxville, and I have never been away from my family.
