Day 3

It was a real pleasure listening to Dr. Cathy Self, it surprised me how much her voice
calmed and comforted me.  I didn't realize how tensed I was.  She has a special
talent and I hope she continues to use it.

What touched me the most was remembering how the little boy was so happy with
the book that I found him.  And the little old woman thanking me for taking so much
time helping her.  Sometimes it's the little things that you do for someone else, even
though it is my job.  Dr. Self helped me remember some wonderful moments that
sometimes we take for granted.

I was inspired to look ahead towards the future.  To stop complaining about the
little things, especially the things I can not change.  Just accept what comes and
face it and deal with it.  I feel fortunate to have met all of the wonderful people
who has enter my life through the library.  I hope that I have made a difference
to someone.

  1. I really enjoyed Dr. Self too! It is easy to get caught up in the daily grind of running the library and forget why we are really there. I was also reminded of the many people that have touched my life through the library. In the future positive thinking and a change in my attitude will hopefully remind me of all the wonderful things that happen in my library!

  2. I have really enjoyed your participation in our group of super over achievers. You've made some wonderful contributions. You not only are a "good friend" to those at your library, you are also a great friend to those at PLMI. :)

  3. I know we don't know each other well, but I am so glad to have met you. You do make a difference and I look forward to seeing you again next year. BTW, I thought Dr. Self was outrageously awesome too!
