What I took away from today was when Robert Benson was speaking he made me understand better what 'Branding' was. So hopefully I can please Heather! The best part of today was when Carole was talking with the music, giving the instructions I could my muscles just relaxing, which was the best part of my day. I have realized that I have made great and lasting friendships.

Staff Working Together
My staff is small, but I am trying to support and
encourage one worker to understand the importance
of customer service. I have tried to delegate different
jobs for her, but she always complains.
We need to develop a better relationship where she feels
comfortable enough to confide in me.
Together we are going to examine her strengths and
her weaknesses in customer service. She needs to
feel comfortable and enjoy her job. We need to be
sure she is in a happy place,

Managing Performance
Today Maggie Bahou provided everyone with interesting
information about management performance . As of now
my board only does annual evaluations. It's very casual
and stress free. We go over job knowledge, quality of
work, and problem solving. We end with setting goals
for the next year.
I look forward to taking all of the important information
that I have received back to my library. Everyone on the
team is unique and has great value. I will learn to praise

Staff Development Day
I plan on having staff development day every six months.
Letting the staff decide where and when it should be.

The first two essentials, trust and respect, are the two things that you need to
have in any situation. When people realize that they have your trust and respect
it helps them to open up more and work to achieve at the best of their abilities.
Everyone has different abilities and when you trust and respect them it is easy
to pick out the right task for each team member. When everyone realizes their
purpose and is willing to work and achieve it, everything balances out for a
great result. There will be times that the team has to agree to disagree and move
one and recognize that each member will be accountable for their own
achievements. When everyone focuses on the end results and is willing to do
their part and work well together in a positive manner, the team can accomplish
any task. I feel that it is my job to encourage the team while they are working
together and praise the team for a great outcome.
